Meet Mrs. Giboney

I have been teaching in my own classroom since 2011, but prior to that I was a substitute teacher and a Title I Assistant in 1st grade. I have taught a 2nd/3rd grade combo class, 3rd grade, and 1st grade. I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I currently hold a valid Mississippi teaching license and a preliminary California license.

Here are some fun facts about me:

Mr. Giboney and I have two kiddos, ages 8 and 6, that keep us very busy.

I was a military wife for 9 1/2 years and loved every minute of it...well, minus the deploying part; that was hard!

I became a Christian when I was 19 years old...Mr. Giboney was on his first deployment and Jesus captured my heart.

I love nail polish and sour gummy worms.

I have a weird obsession with pens...I'm very particular about the ones I'll use. No gel ones for sure!

Mr. Giboney and I were stationed in Mississippi during Hurricane Katrina. A tragic experience I will never forget.

I have a maltipoo named Lily.

I LOVE eating out...not a total foodie, but I'm trying. I'm a definite lover of any Cali inspired cuisine.

I grew up in the California Bay Area...a small town south of Oakland...Go A's!

I have six brothers and sisters...I'm smack in the middle!

I am not a fan of plain chocolate bars...there needs to be some almonds, caramel, or toffee in there somewhere.

I love my job. Couldn't ask for anything more!
